Nate was a wonderful teacher and boss (Hello, Trauma Department…), a dear
friend, and a rare breed. He refused to take any bullshit (anyone else
receive the little shovel icon?) , either on assignments or backstage. He
gave me direction when I needed it most and helped me discover my love for
the collaborative art of the theatre and the many interesting people who
were attracted by it and devoted to it. I like to think that our class, the
late sixties/early seventies gang, helped him to develop into the great
teacher that he was.
